Introduction

Snohomish County has the biggest cluster of pumpkin patches and corn mazes near Seattle, and the Snoqualmie Valley around Carnation and Fall City has several more. Every farm below links to its own website, and I checked each one on October 8, 2026. Prices appear only where the farm lists them on its own site. Hours and prices can change, so look at the farm's page before you drive.

Where can you pick apples and see cider pressed?

Apples are at their best in October. Skipley Farm, Swans Trail Farms and Bailey Family Farm in Snohomish all offer pick your own apples. For cider, Oxbow Farm has a free press demo during October, Skipley Farm offers a do it yourself press and group tours, and Fall City Farms serves hot cider by the cup.

Which farms are free to walk into?

Craven Farm, Swans Trail Farms, Carleton Farm, Thomas Family Farm and Novelty Hill Farm each say you can walk in without an entry fee. Rides, mazes and some activities cost extra, so look at each farm's page to plan what you want to add.

What is Trick or Streets in Seattle?

Trick or Streets is a City of Seattle program that gives neighbors a free permit to close their street for a Halloween or Día de Muertos celebration, as long as the event is open to the public. The 2026 application is due October 20. See the City of Seattle page for the rules and how to apply.

What are the most common mistakes?

  • Driving to a farm without checking its page. Hours and attractions can change with the weather.
  • Bringing a dog to a farm that does not allow pets.
  • Wearing shoes you love. October fields get muddy.

What can a fall outing teach you about a neighborhood?

A farm trip is more than a pumpkin. It is a chance to see how a community spends a Saturday. If you are thinking about a move, or thinking about selling and want to understand what makes your own area special, notice what you enjoy about the towns you pass through. Walk a main street. Stop for coffee. See how a neighborhood feels in October light. Those small details help people choose where they want to live, and they help sellers explain what makes their home and street worth coming to see.
